Project Overview:
Location: Liaoning, China
Area: 500 square meters
Ceiling Height: 3.2 meters
Age Range: 3-12 years old

Inspired by underwater adventure stories, we transformed the space into an immersive hotel indoor playground—Whale Children’s Park. With an enchanting ocean theme, this space creates a cohesive narrative environment where children become explorers, embarking on a magical journey to meet a whale and fulfill their dreams of underwater discovery.

Design and Play Experience:
The design incorporates elements such as whales, submarines, and ocean waves, crafting a mysterious underwater atmosphere through imaginative shapes and shades of blue. This stimulates children’s curiosity and adventurous spirit. At the heart of the hotel indoor playground is a multi-level submarine structure, complete with crawl nets, slides, and layered climbing nets, encouraging physical activity and social interaction.

Key Features Include:
● A large ocean ball pool with slides, climbing elements, and frame challenges

● Multi-functional interactive projection games

● Whale-shaped spinners for relaxed fun

● A LEGO zone to develop building skills
The original hotel indoor playground, situated within a well-known tourist attraction’s hotel, had been in operation for over two decades, and its equipment had become outdated. When the hotel underwent renovation, the operator chose to partner with Mooton. With our extensive experience in designing hotel indoor playgrounds for numerous high-end hotels, resorts, and commercial centers, Mooton has built a solid reputation and influence in the industry.
We delved into the hotel’s local cultural context and selected the ocean—a theme deeply familiar to coastal residents—as the core concept. This allows guests to quickly engage with the environment and embark on an extraordinary exploratory journey.
